From the series: Long Journey

Travel fascinates me through the diversity of experiences—from different cultures, architectures, landscapes, and people to unforgettable culinary discoveries. But beyond the sights and sensations, one of the most meaningful aspects of any journey is the people you share it with.

This artwork is, therefore, a thank you and an embrace for my best friend, my goddaughter, her newborn sister, and their mother. It is a tribute to the wonderful time we spent together during parental leave in South Africa, with a particularly magical highlight in Kommetjie—a place that captivated us with its beauty and charm.

One of the most awe-inspiring moments was watching whales directly from our terrace. Seeing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat was nothing short of breathtaking.

Another unforgettable sight in Kommetjie was the kitesurfers, soaring through the waves with incredible skill and passion. Their bold jumps, launching meters into the air, left us in absolute awe.

This artwork is a celebration of those cherished memories—a reminder of the magic of shared experiences, natural wonders, and the deep connections that make a journey truly special.
